"The municipality is flushing the system and once that is complete two consecutive samples taken 24 hours apart will be submitted for bacteriological testing. The BOILED WATER ADVISORY will remain in effect until the two samples come back as satisfactory."
Sounds it will be earliest Saturday to have the BWA lifted!
From 95.5 Hits FM:
"BRIGHTON WATER UPDATE: Mayor Mark Walas says the watermain break yesterday was caused by a CONSTRUCTION ERROR. A crew was working near Alice and George Streets around 2:20 pm when the break occurred. The information they had was that the water line was 20 feet from it's actual location. They dug in only four feet from the line, decreasing the external pressure and causing the main to burst. Repairs were done by nine and pressure was restored to the system by 10:30 pm or so. A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect until further notice. A BURN BAN is also in effect for the urban and rural areas of the Municipality of Brighton."
