It was a very successful weekend, where everyone was happily cooperating to make it a great weekend, the birds, the visitors, the volunteers and the nice weather. :-)
On Saturday the bird banding team caught 13 different kind of warblers, among other birds, and said they never banded so many birds before.
On Sunday I joined the warblers walk at 6:30am, checked out the bird banding and Barbecue, by the time the whimbrels walk came along the camera battery ran out.
A couple from Toronto donated binoculars to the Friends of Presqu'ile. That the friends gladly accepted.
In the Toronto Star of May 16, 2015 was an article about the elusiveness of the purple trillium. Although not as common as the white one, we saw them at different spots in the park. http://www.pressreader.com/canada/toronto-star/20150516/282716225575565/TextView
It was a great weekend to be at the Presqu'ile Park.
