The mated pair laid their first egg, Fred wrote a piping plover breeding at Presqu'ile hasn't been recorded in over 100 years.
They extended the exclosure but there is still a wide beach area by the water for people to move past. People are discouraged setting up there for the day but casual walkers and observers don’t seem to bother the birds.
If everything goes as planned chicks should hatch about June 28-29th.
