I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather.
It has certainly been a busy season – and I have seen many of you there. I thought you would want to know about the next two Sundays – and more.
About 30 Model A cars – and drivers – will descend on the market right at opening time: 10:00 a.m. They are on their way from Belleville to Port Hope and we are delighted that they are making a stop at the Market. Please come out and chat with the proud owners.
As always, there will be lots of fine products available “under the roof” for your shopping pleasure and value. Plus, Cheryl Casselman, amazing songster, will be entertaining. Wait – there’s more: Chef Dorothy will be offering samples of a side dish using corn and zucchini. She will be cooking on site, and all ingredients are available from our vendors.
Speaking of Chef Dorothy, you can join her at the market either on September 10 or October 15 for a Chef Tour and Cooking Demonstration. Details are on the attached poster, and the cost for each session is only $10. This is a great way to ease into fall food preparation.
This is a Big Day at the Codrington Market. Since it’s the last Sunday of the month, the Artisan Marketplace is happening inside the hall with more vendors in pop-ups outside. There are beautiful items on display, including knitting and other crafts, paintings, jewelry, and much more. Also, the annual Family Fun Day is taking place during market hours. Bring the kids to play in the bouncy castle and enjoy the other activities. The Brighton Library is doing a Pop-Up on site, and they are having a Used Book Sale at the same time. And if that isn’t enough, you will also be musically entertained by the very popular duo, R&R. This is the last weekend before Labour Day, so you will want to stock up on fresh veggies, frozen meat, granola bars, and bakery items for school (and work) lunches.
Many thanks for your ongoing support of the Codrington Farmers’ Market.
p.s. We have sorted out the parking problem, for the most part. You can park on the grass, a much safer alternative.
