" ‘Twas the week before Thanksgiving and in all of our thoughts
Were jumbled ideas of what to cook in our pots (next weekend).
Fortunately, the Codrington Farmers’ Market will help you out with a wonderful assortment of harvest vegetables, local meats, yummy desserts, bread, cheese, jams, and other enticing products. You can also decorate your place with fresh flowers, gourds, garlic braids, apples, pumpkins, hand-painted wooden signs, and more.
Farmers’ Markets Ontario has just put out their Fall and Winter Recipe books (free) featuring local ingredients. The Cauliflower and Parsnip Soup looks like a great starter for a Thanksgiving meal. Ask a vendor for a book, or find some on the coffee table.
Popular singer Mark Russell will be entertaining. There is a clip of him performing on our Codrington Farmers Market Facebook page. As always, a variety of snacks will be served by our talented cooks.
The weather promises to be nice, but about 15 degrees C cooler than last week – and that’s a good thing. The veggies were not impressed with last Sunday’s temperature.
Our Market will continue every Sunday 10 – 2 through October, and then the vendors will come back twice more inside the hall: November 19 and 26.
We look forward to your next visit. Please Like Us on Facebook."
